This year, I wanted to create something a little different. I love traditional Christmas jewellery, but I also wanted to make something you could wear throughout winter rather than putting away with the Christmas decorations in January. And, naturally, I ended up designing stars. I have a slight habit of making things look like they belong in space!
Statement Christmas Earrings with a Celestial Design
The Celestial Star Gold Hoop combines beautiful marbled grey acrylic with a subtle gold shimmer and larger silver sparkles. I've then added mirrored, engraved gold stars and matte gold engraved circles, creating a lovely mix of textures and finishes.
The result is a pair of statement Christmas earrings that catch the light beautifully without feeling overly glittery or too traditionally festive. The celestial star design gives them a magical feel, making them perfect for Christmas parties, winter celebrations and festive nights out.
Lightweight Handmade Star Earrings
One of my favourite things about this design is that every earring is slightly different. The marbling in the acrylic isn't identical, so each pair has its own individual pattern. It's one of those little details that makes handmade jewellery feel special — you're not just getting something that looks like hundreds of other earrings.
I've also backed the acrylic with smooth plywood. This adds strength and durability while keeping the earrings incredibly lightweight. And when I say lightweight, I mean it! I love a statement earring, but I don't want to spend the day feeling like my ears are being pulled towards the floor.
Gold Filled Hoops for Quality and Durability
The earrings hang from gold filled hoops, chosen for their durability and quality. I spent a lot of time researching the different jewellery findings available because I wanted something that worked beautifully with my designs while still being practical and hard-wearing.
For me, the right materials matter. I want my celestial jewellery to look beautiful, but I also want you to be able to wear it comfortably and regularly.

And, because I'm a mechanical engineer at heart, I don't just make pretty things and hope for the best. Every design is made and tested by me.
I've worn these during the school run, while working and generally getting on with everyday life — because jewellery should be beautiful, but it should also be practical. Yes, there have been some slightly embarrassing school runs involving me wearing Christmas jewellery in the middle of summer!
