There’s something truly special about Christmas — that mix of sparkle, excitement, and a little bit of chaos! But as the years go by, I’ve realised that the most magical moments don’t come from big budgets or flashy gifts. They come from creativity, togetherness, and those small handmade touches that make the season feel real.
At The Joyful Rebel, Christmas is our favourite time of year. My studio fills with glitter, laughter, and the hum of making — earrings, craft kits, stockings, and personalised gifts that bring a little joy to every home. So here are my top five ways to make Christmas magical, meaningful, and affordable this year.
1. Get Creative with a Christmas Craft Kit

There’s nothing more heartwarming than sitting down with the kids and creating something together. Our Design Your Own Christmas Stocking Kit is a perfect family activity — it’s screen-free, easy to use, and full of festive sparkle. Each kit comes with everything you need to decorate your own stocking, and they make gorgeous keepsakes for years to come.
Or try one of our other creative craft kits, like the Artist or Fossil Hunter Kit, for a fun Christmas Eve project. Handmade memories beat plastic toys every time!

2. Add Some Sparkle to Your Outfit

Christmas calls for glitter — and a touch of festive jewellery is an easy way to make any outfit feel special. My Christmas Tree Earrings, Holly Hoops, and Bow Hoops have been customer favourites for years, and it’s easy to see why.
They’re lightweight, comfortable, and guaranteed to make you smile — whether you’re at the school Christmas fair, a festive lunch, or just wrapping presents with a glass of mulled wine. (And yes, they make brilliant gifts too!)

3. Give Gifts That Feel Personal
A handmade gift always feels more thoughtful than something mass-produced. All our products are made here in my Keynsham studio, nestled between Bristol and Bath, and can be personalised or gift wrapped to make them extra special.
A Design Your Own Craft Kit for a creative child, or a pair of glittery statement earrings for a friend who loves a bit of sparkle — small gifts that show care, not cost.
4. Make the Most of What You Already Have
Sometimes, a little creativity goes a long way. Use our vinyl shapes from the kits to upcycle old T-shirts or tote bags. Add new life to last year’s decorations with a dash of glitter or a coat of paint. Christmas magic doesn’t need to be bought — it can be made.
5. Slow Down and Enjoy It
Amongst the busyness, take a moment to sit back and enjoy the glow of the fairy lights. Crafting, creating, and giving handmade gifts remind us what Christmas is really about — connection, creativity, and joy.
So, this year, skip the stress and fill your home with things made from the heart. After all, the most magical Christmases are the ones you make yourself.
